Do you consider yourself fortunate?

This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for October 29, 2009:
Absolutely! I am better off than 99.99% of the people who lived on this planet before me.
I've had the benefits of modern day medical science, telecommunications, advanced transportation systems, and all the wonders that didn't exist even as much as 50 years ago. I have never experienced extremes of poverty or wealth, my nation is not living under foreign leadership, I am unfettered in my beliefs. I have been granted freedom of religion, speech and the pursuit of happiness. What I make of my life here is up to me, I am not enslaved by any person or institution. I am not smothered in material possessions that own me, I am not wanting for anything. I have what most people do not, satisfaction in my life and I have enough. I am not so fortunate as I am Blessed.

Help

“I have what most people do not, satisfaction in my life and I have enough.” Followed up with “I am not so fortunate as I am Blessed.” Sandi with your wonderful disposition, your weather forecast will always be sunny – regardless.
Good morning, Laurie, we all have such a little time here, I find no value in crying over this and that and the other. When I count my blessings in the morning, I run out of breath before I can relate them all. God blessed me with a simple Life and a simple heart to go with it. How fortunate is that?
I'm fortunate to have you in my life.
“I am not so much fortunate as blessed.”
And I am blessed by you
well, I can't believe I made it here before reply #4,035 to your post … been flying around on my Eureka all day, practicing for Saturday night to give Laurie some competition; your comments gave me pause as I note that too often we pay attention to what is going wrong in our lives, too little to what is going right in our lives, and that, if I gained nothing more in my lifetime, was told that all I could have for the rest of my days on this earth is what I possessed today: the family, the friends, the things I have now have, I'd look around, and say “yeah, it's really fine.”
“… if I gained nothing more in my lifetime, was told that all I could have for the rest of my days on this earth is what I possessed today: the family, the friends, the things I have now have, I'd look around, and say “yeah, it's really fine.” Barbara, that's a great heart/mind space to be in.
On another note … You've been flying around on your Eureka all day?! I think we'll have to be in two separate contests. I use a broom. Granted, it's turbo boosted; but Len says, if the broom fits …
All right, Ladies, here it is, my Racing Hoover can take one or both of you. We can run the quarter, or go top end. I admit, I can do the Quarter in under 14, I mean, I've almost got more engine than the weight to hold it down. Or I'll take you down, top end. You want to hang on with both hands, this Hoover has so much power it'll take the carpet of the floor and suck the nails out of the sub-deck. Don't take it on if you're a little scared, you'll be eating stardust. After I get through cleaning the floor with you, I don't want to hear about y'all crying in your brew. So pull up your Big Girl Panties and we'll do it. Hear this, I mean to fly!
I wish you could see me laughing. Oh my gosh! I must look hysterical in my all-day-jammies and stickie-outie hair, cracking up at my computer. Sandi, you do have a way with words.
Just as long as your ring finger is not longer than your middle finger, nobody's looking. 'Cept that creepy-looking guy in back yard. The one with the hair all over his body and a big snout, and eeoouu…..bad nails!
Barbara, what are you going on about? Just a few friends dropping by for a cookie and a drink. I am sure the conversation gets a little out-of-hand at times, but it's all in the name of fun. Of course the weather can do funny things to a person, after all, just look at Laurie's stickie-outie hair.
You sound like you have what is called a successful life. I'm not talking about financially successful, or even in your profession. In your day to day life, you are content to be Barbara and have what Barbara has, including, quote, ” the best boyfriend in the World.” How many women can say that?
Hey there, Gabby! I am very fortunate indeed to have you in my life. You are the sweetest cookie monster I know!
Hi, Bob! you know, I think that's what this whole Gaia thing is about, to meet and communicate with great people we otherwise would not have been fortunate enough to meet. For instance, I've met you and how fortunate is that?
allrighty then, sandi … my Eureka sucked the cat up off the carpet – claws and all – (she'll get over it in a day or two) … not sure if I have to replace the carpet yet, though …
and you are right – I have the bestest ever … never have had stickie-outie hair though … might need to try that on here soon
All of us are fortunate to live in this world at the same time, in the present.
Hey there, San, when I look around and see the people and friends I've been blessed to share this Journey with, I'm overwhelmed at the love my God has given me. Love in the form of all the wayfarers I've traveled with and learned from. Thank you, for your comment.
