What does personal freedom mean to you?

This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for November 05, 2009:
I have have a lot of personal freedom and I guard it closely. Unless it would be harmful to myself or others, no one can really restrain me from taking any action I choose to embark on. They may offer wise advice, threaten sanctions and even sever relationships, but I am not legally bound to take anyone's orders but mine. It was a hard struggle to break through to this level of freedom in my life and I don't take it lightly. Many have claims on me through ties of love and trust and I helped forge those silken chains to hold them close to me as well. With great freedom comes responsibilty to conduct yourself with a certain knowledge that the actions you take will ultimately affect all and to temper your behavior in concordance with the laws of the Universe. As Laurie often says, what you are not changing, you are choosing. So it is with the ties that bind your freedom. If you bind yourself in hate, if you bind yourself in love, at the end of the day it is your Freedom and your choice.

“With great freedom comes responsibilty to conduct yourself with a certain knowledge that the actions you take will ultimately affect all and to temper your behavior in concordance with the laws of the Universe.”
Sandi - I enthusiastically applaud your entire comment. This sentence, in particular, resonated right down to my toes.
Thanks, Laurie, like they say, “what goes around, comes around”.
That quote of Laurie's is amazing; that fact that we can change our world pretty much describes our personal freedom…
You rock Sandi and your insight is so to the point. I love it.
Well said

Thursday evening 7:50pm.
Teeth brushed - check!
Clean jammies - check!
Called Dad one night early because we won't be home tomorrow night - check!
We close HolEssence early tomorrow and head down to the TibetCenter in Evanston, Illinois to see Joan Borysenko PhD (author of Pocketful of Miracles) present ”Spirituality and Healing: Ancient Wisdom meets Modern Science.” We will enjoy a dinner, silent auction and raffle prior to the presentation. I'm looking forward to it.
Sandi - I sure hope that you've enjoyed your past two days off. It would seem that the weather behaved beautifully for you. During the 'close to holiday' time of year when you work weekends, does that mean Saturday and Sunday, or just Saturday?
Hi, Jeannie, Laurie has some pretty remarkable stuff in her big pockets, I borrow some from time to time. Thanks for stopping by.
Liza, I don't know about rocking right now. I was earlier in the day before the sore muscles set in. But the establishment is looking a lot tidier with the leaves gone. Thank you for your comment.
Hey there, JM, you doing alright? Thanks for the visit, don't stay away so long.
You are so ahead of me, Laurie, but I'm fixing to catch up. I'm hitting the bed in a few, with a good book and tired body, I won't last long. All weekend means Fri., Sat., Sun., and probably Mon. too. I talked to them on the phone this afternoon and Another big Christmas shipment has arrived, “And we waiting for you to come in so we can get it organized.” In plain speak that means, “We didn't feel like messing with it so we want you to do it.” Good, I love to work, (tongue-in-cheek).
Sounds like a good time to morrow night. Interesting subject and one everyone wants to hear about these days. I saw that Caroline Myss is having a workshop weekend at Findhorn Community this month, teaching from her new book, the one you saw presented.
Yes, the weather has been fabulous, true Indian Summer, I hate to let the days slip away, but this one has about done me in. I'm outa here.
Good night, Sandi. I'm up at 4:20am so I'm about to pack it in myself.
Friday through Monday makes for one long weekend. It's a good thing that you love what you do, and that the people you work with respect what you do.
I'll be on Gaia in the morning to answer the question of the day, but then it's off to HolEssence, and then down to the dinner/presentation, so I won't be on in the evening.
