What role does community play in your life?

This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for November 07, 2009:
If you have a Lego Village and look at it closely, you'll see that all parts are connected to create the Whole. Even though the schoolhouse seems to be seperate from the barber shop, as an entity of own, all parts are connected by the supporting frame work. To take away one house or store will not collapse the village but will certainly diminish the whole. In the Community where I live, we are not in constant interaction with each other, but we do have the security of knowing that if something is needed for one member, we'll see that it is provided. The bonds of kinship and friendship are much stronger than any grouping of stores and houses. We are a Oneship, we are the Community.

Sandi - I love your analogy of a Lego Village! “To take away one house or store will not collapse the village, but will certainly diminish the whole.” And then you pack the wallop – “We are a Oneship …” You've painted a beautiful word picture with which to start the day – thank you!
42: And they continued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.
43: And fear came upon every soul: and many wonders and signs were done by the apostles.
44: And all that believed were together, and had all things common;
45: And sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all men, as every man had need.
46: And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart,
47: Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.
Acts 2:42-47 (KJV)
And a fantastic photograph, to boot!
Wonderful thing about sitting around an airport … not much to do except read and play on the Internet, so I get to play on Gaia now instead of waiting until the end of the day when I am too exhausted to think much less come up with witty naysayings … whatever those are. Anyway, it is the knowing that is your strength, much like the existence God, Spirit, Source, Spirituality (I have never really seen a snapshot of Spirituality nor have we shaken hands or had coffee but I know without a doubt that Spirit exists); community exists even without the proof and when a part of it goes missing, you know it is missing, and you seek to go find it, go fill that missing part, go strengthen that weakness because you know you need it … even more so, you know it needs you.
Hi Barbara - “… but I know without a doubt that Spirit exists …” Yes! You may not have shaken hands with it, or had coffee with it, but you do see a spark of it when you look in the mirror every single morning.
Have a wonderful trip – enjoy the desert!
Yes.. this is the community..
Thank you..
LOVE and PEACE..
You are surrounded by beauty in many forms.
Six degrees of separation. A distance far enough to allow an infinite variety of expression but not so far as to keep us truly apart from one another.
I feel ya Sandi
Hey, Y'all! I've come home and found that the Community has stopped by in my absence. How great is that, I'd like know? I've had a kick-ass day (good!) a great evening (better) and I'll catch up with everybody in the morning, 'cause I'm falling asleep on my keyboard. Thanks for the visits, and have a good night!
